Bring what you have — a Captilo certificate, a photo carrying the Captilo label, or just the 12-character Proof ID printed on it. Each route ends at the same record on the Sonic blockchain, written when the photo was taken.

Captilo's official lookup for its own certificates and exports against the Sonic blockchain proof registry — not a C2PA validation service. For Content Credentials on third-party images, use Adobe's Content Authenticity verifier.

Pictures shared from Captilo often carry a label with a 12-character Proof ID. Type it here, or drop the picture on the left and we read it for you. We check whether the photographer published the proof, and show you the page if they did.

How Verification Works

  1. Upload a PDF certificate or a Captilo export JPEG — file type is auto-detected
  2. Proof ID from a label: press Verify this Picture and we check real.gallery. Most shared photos have a published page, which shows the photograph and what the phone recorded at capture
  3. Photo with a Captilo label: the label is read in your browser and the photo is not uploaded — only the ID it found is sent
  4. PDF: Server extracts embedded image, recalculates hashes, and verifies on blockchain
  5. Export JPEG: Server reads which Captilo proof the image's Content Credential names and looks that proof up on the Sonic blockchain. It does not check the credential's signature or that the picture is the recorded one: for that, use verify.contentauthenticity.org and the proof's own page
  6. Results are returned and any uploaded file is immediately deleted from the server. A Proof ID lookup uploads nothing at all
  7. No page published? You can request the proof. The request joins a public list that Captilo phones read and match against the proofs they hold, so nobody has to send anything to anybody

Your privacy is protected: Uploaded files are held only while they are checked and deleted as soon as verification finishes. We don't keep the files or their contents; our server log records only the file type, its size and the result. See the Privacy Policy.
